Laurina R. Hernandez, age 28, of Quincy, IL passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022 in Athens, Alabama. She was born November 27, 1993 in Quincy, IL to Herbert Stewart and Theresa Irwin Stewart. She married Jacob Hernandez in Quincy, IL, and he survives.
Laurina grew up in Barry, IL, later moving to Quincy, IL and graduated from Liberty High School in 2012. She obtained her CNA license from John Wood Community College and went on to work at several places but enjoyed her job at the Veteran’s Home in Quincy the most. She loved taking care of the people there. She was an amazing mother and loved her daughters.
She loved shopping, going to the creek, taking pictures of her children, and spending time with her family who lovingly nicknamed her “Hubba Bubba”. Laurina was a loving, kind soul who was very outgoing and will be dearly missed.
Laurina is survived by; her husband, Jacob Hernandez of Quincy, IL; daughters, Ava Hernandez and Allie Hernandez of Quincy, IL; her father, Herbert “Jay” Stewart; brother, Rick (Heather) Lish of Florida; sisters, Kickstart McCollum of Perry, IL, and Cheyenne (Caleb) Erke of Barry, IL; nine nieces and nephews; grandmothers, Sharon Irwin of Barry, IL and Phyllis Stewart of Quincy, IL.; and aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by; her mother, Theresa Irwin Stewart; daughter in infancy, Blakelynn; grandfathers, Jerry Irwin and Herbert Stewart; grandmother Audrey Delcour; and furry friend, Tequila.
