Her Story
Unfortunately on Thursday 9 April, 2009, our beloved friend Iris Mendoza Gonzales passed away. In 2008 she was diagnosed with Lupus, along came her pregnancy. After having her baby Jacob her illness got worse. Her Lupus illness became so sever that it required her to seek a lung transplant. They never found a compatible donor for her here in Laredo, and when she was recently hospitalized for 4 weeks, Doctors had to send her to a Houston hospital as a last option where this last week she was connected to a respiratory machine, she began getting weak and weaker
