Who She Was
Her Story
Destiny Mone’t Layton was born August 8, 1997, in Newport News, VA. Raised in Hampton, VA, Destiny was a joyous, bright, and vibrant individual. She loved family and was full of energy and had a love of adventure. Destiny dedicated her life to the Lord at an early age, and her love for people stemmed from her love of God. From a child Destiny had a love of music and dance. She was artistically creative and enjoyed quiet times with books. Outgoing by nature, she was big-hearted and always wanted others to be happy. Caring and fun loving, Destiny would be the one to make you smile and laugh. A graduate with honors from Phoebus High School, Destiny was an intelligent and bright student whose teachers constantly spoke highly of her. She participated in Cheer and Dance competitions from an early age and while in High school was a Cheerleader for her beloved Phoebus Phantoms.
