Her Story
Jackie Ann Defoe, 27, and her son Kevin Lee Shabaiash Jr., 21 months, passed away at their home in Cloquet on Saturday, March 7, 2020.
Jackie was born in Cloquet on November 13, 1992, to Garrett “Umtiz” Defoe and Tammy Sumi. She grew up on the Fond du Lac Reservation. Jackie overcame many challenges in her young life and was still able to be a devoted mother to her children Jayden, Jamie and Kevin.
Jackie is survived by her father Garrett “Umtiz” Defoe; Mother Tammy Sumi; sister Courtney Defoe; brothers Adam Greensky, Jamie Defoe, and Robert Dudley; and many cousins and close family. She was preceded in death by her son Kevin Lee Shabaiash Jr., grandparents Roy Sr. and Geraldine Defoe; aunts Roberta Defoe and Cherie Davis; uncles Roy Defoe Jr., Randall Defoe, and Antione Defoe.
Both Jackie and Kevin will be greatly missed by their family and friends and the Fond du Lac community.
