Her Story

Katharyn (Kayte) Kocher Derhammer, 29, of Bellefonte, PA, passed away September 9, 2024, at GMC Danville, Pa.  She was born June 3, 1995, in State College, a daughter of Michael W. Kocher and Mary K. Fogle.

She graduated from State College High School Class of 2013 and Penn State University in Agriculture Business Class of 2018. Kayte worked at Vicus Capital, where she was the Operations Manager.

Kayte was a beautiful, loving, caring, daughter, wife, mother-to-be, friend and co-worker. Full of kindness, always putting other people over herself.  She lightened every room she walked into.

Kayte loved spending time with her family and friends.  She, above all, loved being with her fur “baby” Remi and tolerated her fur “baby” Roary.

Kayte loved the Grange Fair, celebrating Birthdays, Holidays, especially Christmas.  She loved Fantasy Football with her co-workers, cooking, entertaining, reading and Hallmark Christmas movies.

She is survived by her husband Walter Derhammer III with whom she was married September 21, 2019, mother Mary Fogle and step father Tib Bunnell of Warriors Mark, father Michael Kocher and friend Sandy of PA Furnace, two step-sisters Taylor and Madison Bunnell, step grandmother Gwen Bunnell.

Kayte was preceded in death by infant son Koleton William Derhammer, grandparents Catherine “Til” (Grammy) and Robert Kocher, Ruby (Meme) and Scott Fogle, step grandfather Richard Bunnell, and sister Elizabeth “Liza” Marie Kocher.
