Who She Was
Her Story
Megan was born September 30, 1982 to Bruce and Julie (Simard) Allen. She was raised in the Naches Heights area, graduating from Highland High School in 2001 where she enjoyed cheerleading and track. Megan went on to be active in the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority while at WSU, graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Marketing. Megan married Dan Tracy in Seattle, Washington in 2009 where they both worked, before work took them to Portland.Together, they started their own business which brought them from Portland to Sacramento before finally settling back in Portland. Megan made friends everywhere she went and is missed by many near and far.
Megan was a loving mother to Devan (7), Elliott (5), and Liam (8 months). Her devotion to her boys was evident as they were constantly doing arts and crafts along with many family outings. They had just planted a garden in their backyard, and she looked forward to harvesting strawberries and vegetables with them later this summer. Megan seemed to be able to do it all. In addition to being active in her family’s business, she was involved in mothers’ groups, her sons’ school and sporting activities and the Hallinan Elementary PTO. She loved spending time with her extended family in Hope, Idaho which she referred to as her “happy place.” There, she spent many days snow skiing at Schweitzer during winter months and water skiing and playing with her boys on Lake Pend Oreille in the summers.
Megan is survived by her husband, Dan Tracy, and sons Devan, Elliott, and Liam of Portland; parents, Bruce and Julie Allen of Yakima; brother, Robert Allen (Kristy), of Perth, Australia; and sister, Kristin Williams (Jim), of Yakima. She is also survived by her niece, Jillian; nephews, Sage, Reed, Kai and Garrett as well as her grandmother, Jean Simard, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
