Her Story

In the quiet confines of Vassar Brothers Hospital of Poughkeepsie on Tuesday, July 17, 2001, Olivia Anora McLean-Wilk departed this life for the peace and tranquility found in the eternal rest of death. She was 31.

The beloved daughter of Albert McLean and Inid Johnson McLean of Poughkeepsie, she was born Oct. 13, 1969 in Mandeville, Jamaica, West Indies, Olivia was a graduate of Dutchess Community College and Stony Brook University Medical School. A 10-year resident of the Poughkeepsie area, she was employed by the Greenhaven Correctional Facility of Greenhaven as a physician’s assistant. Additionally, Olivia was a member of the United States Army Reserves and the Poughkeepsie Seventh Day Adventist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her devoted husband, Raymond J. Wilk Jr., at home; five daughters, Orchadia McLean, Alecia, Nicola, Natalia, and Natasha Wilk, all at home; a step-son and daughter Michael and Raiana Wilk, both of Highland; one sister Alecia Dennis of Boynton Beach, FL; a brother, Stephen McLean of Poughkeepsie; and other relatives and friends.
