Sasha Lewis Hettich, 27, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, lost her battle with postpartum depression Friday, Dec. 25, 2015. She was born Aug. 5, 1988, at Crawfordsville, to John and Bridget (McClain) Lewis. She married Cody Hettich on May 31, 2008.
Sasha graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 2007, and continued her education at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, where she was active in the English Honors Program and received a bachelor’s degree in English.
Sasha lived for her children. She was a gentle, caring mother who consistently taught and loved her children. Her husband Cody was the love of her life. She enjoyed being active, writing, listening to podcasts, taking trips to the coffee shop, riding her bike, enjoying music, reading, learning and looking for adventure. She will be greatly missed by her husband Cody and children; siblings Brooke and Seth; her parents; and all who loved her.
She is survived by husband Cody Hettich; daughter Ember Hettich; and son Augustus (Gus) Hettich of Grand Rapids; father John Lewis and mother Bridget Lewis of Crawfordsville; sister Brooke Decker (Shannon) of Crawfordsville; brother Seth Lewis of Crawfordsville; maternal grandmother Norma Wise (Tony) of Crawfordsville; paternal grandmother Martha Aders of Frankfort; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Sasha was preceded in death by paternal grandfather Larry Lewis; and cousins, Shane Ellis and Evin Jarman.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal.
