Her Story

Caressa M. Kovalcik, 23, of Windber, formerly of Homer City, passed away Saturday May 31, 2014 at Conemaugh Medical Center, Johnstown. She was born in 1990 in Martinsburg, WV. Caressa was adopted by Robert J. and Anne (Delier) Kovalcik on September 11, 2001. Caressa was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent. She graduated from Saltsburg High School in 2009. Caressa was a hard worker, and loved her job as a waitress. She enjoyed music, the Pittsburgh Penguins, cookouts and spending time with her family. She was a wonderful mother, giving all of her time and energy to her children. She is survived by a son and a daughter – Denver, Jr. and Abrianna; her adopted parents; four siblings – Marc, Autumn, Bill, and Joshua Kovalcik; two grandmothers – Helen Kovalcik, and Marie-Madeleine Delier; and numerous family and friends both in the United States and Belgium. She was preceded in death by two grandfathers – Clarence Kovalcik Sr. and Jean Delier; her cousin – Chad Delier Scanlon, and an uncle – Jean-Pierre Delier.
