Her Story
Jessica Ray “Ca-ca” Oplinger, 39, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away unexpectedly Friday, June 3, 2022, in Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Oplinger was born March 23, 1983, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of James and Jody Smitley McCloy.
She was a 2001 graduate of Connellsville Area High School, continuing her education at Penn State Fayette Nursing School, obtaining her MSN-MHA.
Jessica was a loving wife, mother of two beautiful IVF children, daughter and sister. She was employed by Anthem Inc. as a registered nurse. She had such a kind heart, always helping her patients and anyone she could. Jessica endured many years of infertility and treatment without complaint to become Mommy to her special son and daughter.
Mrs. Oplinger cherished spending time with her kids and family, especially at the beach and other vacation destinations.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving husband, Michael Oplinger; and her beloved children, Cameron and Ryleigh Oplinger. Jessica is also survived by a brother, Jack Grizzly McCloy (Jane); sister, Jimi Jo McCloy-Evans (Jason); and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Jessica Ray is now in the loving arms of her Grandma DoDo.
The family wishes to raise awareness and compassion to anyone inflicted with postpartum depression. “Show kindness; lend a hand as Jessica would.”
