Who She Was

Her Story

Jocelyn Kay Sarbacker, age 35, of Edgerton, passed away unexpectedly from complications after childbirth on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Meriter Hospital in Madison.

Jocelyn was born on January 10, 1988, the daughter of Todd and Laura (Crabtree) Olson. She was a 2006 graduate of Edgerton High School and attained her associate degree from MATC in Interior Design. She worked in property management for Avante Properties.

Jocelyn married her best friend, love of her life Ben Sarbacker on May 24, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Edgerton. Ben and Jocelyn met in 2006 at the Stoughton Fair and bonded over their passion for dairy cattle. They were inseparable ever since. Together they enjoyed the Wisconsin State Fair, World Dairy Expo and of course all things football. Jocelyn was so passionate about her family, especially Ben and her boys.

She was so proud to be a “boy mom” and wore her title with honor. She instilled the importance of making moments special in all of her boys, Ben included. Jocelyn had an eye to make everything around her beautiful whether it be her perfectly styled home, curated gifts to her family or her impeccable snack boards for events. She meant so much to everyone around her and was idolized by her little sisters. Her kindness, thoughtfulness and competitive spirit will live on through her children.

Jocelyn is survived by her husband, Ben; three sons: Brock Camden age 6, Ames Madden age 4 and Tate Jaden 1 week old; parents, Todd and Laura Olson; sisters: Jordan (Oliver) Davis, and Jenna (Ryan) Jansen: nephews: Reece and Rory Davis; grandmother, Patricia Crabtree; mother and father-in-law, Tom and Vicki Sarbacker; brothers-in-law: Nick (Jessica) Sarbacker, Andy (Kara) Sarbacker, Joe (Sarah) Sarbacker; sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Austin) Wenck; nieces and nephews: Noah, Matthew, Payton, Eden, Braelyn, Madison, Avery, Reagan and Melanie.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Roger and Nancy Olson.
