Her Story
Ashanti Pumpkin Allen was born on August 13, 2002. She always claimed Missouri City, Texas as her birth place so we will just go with that lol. Ashanti and baby Jaxon were found deceased on or about April 10, 2026
Ashanti attended the following schools; Glover Elementary, Missouri City Middle School, Thurgood Marshall High School, and Texas Connection Academy. She received her certificate for Medical Assistant from the College of Health Care Professionals, from there she worked as a Patient Care Assistant for Ben Taub/Harris Health Hospital until her death. Ashanti went into the medical field because of her mom Trisa’s health and went to every doctors visit. She was so happy to be expecting her first child, named Jaxon “big baby” Allen. The reason for Jaxon’s nickname comes from every OB appointment, they would say he is big baby so his g’mama gave him that nickname.
Ashanti was a ballerina dancer when she was younger. She was also in choir in school. She just loved to sing, dance, play her PS5 games and watch wrestling, among other things. She got baptized in or about 2024. She enjoyed going to Church at Word Restoration and was going to bring baby Jaxon there as well. She knew how to pray, love and had a personal relationship with God. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 23.
Ashanti and baby Jaxon are survived by her mother and Day 1, Trisa Gaines Colbert; her brother, Xavier Gaines Colbert; her sister, Marche’ Peevy; her nephews, Ryan Peevy, Javion & Jayce Hubbard and Champion Obazuaye; her father, Edward Allen; her other three brothers, Edward Ray Ramsey, Erin Ramsey and Edward Allen III; her one living grandmother, Lontee Allen; her Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and others. They are preceded in rest by her grandparents, Joseph and Vernice Colbert; her cousin, Chiquitha Duffy and a host of others.
They fought a good fight, kept the faith and won the race!
