Who She Was

Her Story

It is with grief-stricken and devastated hearts that we announce the sudden death of our beautiful and quite lovely daughter Sydney Daoud and her beautiful and quite lovely baby, Panna.

Sydney was in her 8th month of pregnancy. She collapsed after suffering cardiac arrest, taking her last breath in her father’s arms while her husband clasped her hand.

Sydney was a radiant, vibrant, exceptional young woman, she was cheerful, full of energy and enthusiasm, exuding positivity and happiness. She had a dynamic presence.

Her high-spiritedness was contagious.

She had an optimistic outlook seeing the good in people and events often serving as a source of inspiration and hopefulness, captivating all those around her. She brought a sense of liveliness to any setting, and had a spark of intelligence and was actively interested in the world around her. Kind-hearted and compassionate she treated others with respect and empathy showing warmth and genuine care, generous, humble the first to say, “I’m sorry”.

Loyalty was one of her many trademarks. She took time to be grateful and enjoy the simple pleasures of life, the beach, the ocean, nature and God’s creations. Her prime concern however was to maintain her Christianity and to do right by God.

She had a love of music and would spend endless hours reading and writing. She adored her family they were a critical part of her life and worked tirelessly to unite them… family and friends always gave her much joy.

She took the greatest care in nurturing of her unborn child sacrificing many pleasures, studying nutrition and diet for the baby’s benefit ensuring good health. She had an intense love for babies and children of all ages and took much delight and interest in them. But essentially, she wanted nothing more than to be a mother, it was her innate desire. Her eight months of suffering were of no consequence. The welfare of the baby was the focus of her young life.

She proudly named her baby, Panna, in honor of her grandmother. Tragically Baby Panna lived for only a few moments. And yet she was a vision, a mirror image of her mother, her lips, her eyes her nose, her hair. She was in essence, Sydney.

All those who knew Sydney were touched by her unique and genuine love. She was truly a beautiful person. She was a dedicated wife, loyal daughter and loving friend…she was all our daughter.

She leaves behind her beloved mother, sister, grandfather, uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, husband and father. She was 26 years old.
