Her Story
Michelle Marie LaRose Clark, 31, died Jan. 16, 2011. She was six months pregnant with her first child and died of unknown causes at her Eagle River home.
Michelle was born June 20, 1979, to Randy Lee LaRose Sr. and Sun Chul LaRose in Boston, Mass.
She was the youngest of three children. She grew up as a military brat who loved to travel. She never had trouble making friends. She was a very outgoing and caring person. Michelle was a loving individual who was always willing to go out of her way to help those around her.
Michelle chose to pursue her military career with the National Guard at the age of 27. She quickly proved herself to be a proud and strong soldier. In the five years she gave serving her country, she received numerous awards and much recognition, including NCO of the Quarter. She also completed the basic NCO course and had achieved the rank of E-6. She served in 2009 in Kosovo. Michelle was looking forward to a life career serving her country.
Michelle was a loving daughter, sister, auntie and friend. She was expecting her first child, Areana Chanel, and looking forward to motherhood.
She enjoyed dancing, snowboarding, sketching, hanging out with family, laughing, playing jokes, being a goofball, making other people laugh, doing things for other people and learning about and trying new things. Other interests included reading, running, hiking, cooking, snowmachining, fishing, football, four-wheeling, guns, horse-playing, wrestling, swimming, canoeing, rafting and music.
Michelle is survived by her father, Randy Lee LaRose Sr.; mother, Sun C. LaRose; sister, Angela Kim LaRose; brother, Randy Lee LaRose Jr.; nieces, Victoria LaRose, Alicia LaRose and Akira Pollard; and nephews, Tyrees LaRose and Doriean Johnson.
