Jasmine Shauné Stearns Patton, FNP-BC, 34, of Chattanooga, transitioned from her earthly life on September 30, 2023. She was born on May 28, 1989, to Charles Stearns Jr. and Linda Greene.

Jasmine was always a very intelligent and high achieving student, graduating from Tyner Academy in 2007. She went on to study at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville before returning home to complete Practical Nursing at Chattanooga State. She also obtained an Associate degree in nursing from Chattanooga State, a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and a Master’s degree in Nursing from Southern Adventist University. She graduated with honors with each degree. Jasmine became a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner in 2020. She loved her nursing career and worked in many different areas including long-term care, skilled nursing, primary care, neurology, and her absolute passion, the CVICU. Jasmine was a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Pi Omega Chapter, and you could always guarantee she would be in her pink and green.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of Second Missionary Baptist Church. Jasmine was baptized March 3, 1996, by Rev. Dr. Paul A. McDaniel, Sr. In her youth, she participated in many church activities including singing in the choir, ushering, and attending bible study. She also loved playing the violin for her church family and had the privilege of playing at other community events including those for the Governor, Maya Angelou, and Reggie White, along with her sister.

Jasmine was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert Poole, Elma Stearns, Delores Stearns, Charles Stearns, Sr., Charles Greene, Sr., Vivian Greene, and Mary Pearl Upton; great-grandmother, Jeraline T. Jones; uncles, Glenn Poole, Sam Poole, Jeffery Poole, and Michael Poole; and daddy, Raymond Greene.

Survivors include her loving husband of almost 8 years, Edgar Patton, III; her precious gift from God, Emery Meshael Patton; mother, Linda Greene of Chattanooga; father, Charles (Kimberly) Stearns, Jr. of Nashville; siblings, Chad Stearns, Carly Stearns, and Christina Stearns, all of Nashville, Darius Greene of Addis, LA, Ashley Greene, Maria Greene, and DeShanna Greene, all of Chattanooga; parents-in-love, Edgar, Jr. and Patricia Patton of Chattanooga; sister-in-love, Erica (Robby) Lee of Nashville; grandmothers, Alice Poole and Donnie Conyers; aunts, Barbara Jones, Samella Jones, both of Nashville, Stella Louise (Willie) Springs, Monica Lynn (Terrance) Moton, and Maria (George, Sr.) Ricks, all of Chattanooga; uncles, Curtis (Debra) Poole, Sr., Eric Greene, and Charles Greene, Jr.; nieces, Kyndall Lee, Cierra Suttle, Bailey Greene, and Demi Greene; nephews, Kamden Lee, Takobe O’Neal, Tristan Adams, Eric Boyd, Jr., and Ronald O’Neal, III; goddaughters, Aiyanna Camp and Chloe Long; special friends, Donna Smith and Telisa Jackson; a host of special cousins; relatives; friends; co-workers; and church family.
