    Her Story

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tera Ellise Cowan, who left this world on September 14, 2024, at the age of 39 in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on March 7, 1985, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, Tera lived a life filled with love, compassion, and selflessness that touched everyone she met.

Tera graduated from Inola High School in Inola, OK, and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in business from Rogers State University. For several years, Tera worked with Farmers Insurance, where her kindness and empathetic nature shone through. She helped individuals through some of the toughest situations, always putting others first, both in her career and in life.

A natural people lover, Tera could light up a room with her conversation. She had the gift of making everyone feel special, listening without complaint, and extending her kindness wherever she went. She believed in taking care of those around her and always prioritized the needs of others before her own. Her friends and family were at the heart of everything she did.

An avid reader, Tera found joy in losing herself in the pages of a good book, often reading for hours at a time. She was also deeply involved in her community, attending church regularly and always cherishing her time spent with others. Perhaps her greatest joy came from being a devoted mother, always present at her daughters’ sporting events and nurturing her young family with unwavering love.

Tera is survived by her loving husband, Justin Cowan; her cherished daughters, Ryleigh Cowan, age 15, and newborn Emersyn Cowan, born just ten days before Tera’s passing on September 4, 2024. She is also survived by her parents, Lance and Sherry Davis; her brother, Tomas Davis; her sister, Jennifer Davis; her beloved grandmother, Janell Yarbrough; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins, who all adored her.

Tera’s warmth, love, and generous spirit will be missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and selflessness that will forever be remembered.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”profile-links-header”]

    Her Story

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Brittany Kaye Long, 37 years, passed away on February 28, 2024 due to birth complications, after the loss of her fifth child, Joy Magnolia.

Brittany was born on December 19th, 1986 in Richmond, VA to Phillip Leon Cifers and Darlene Renee Lowery. After Brittany graduated from Prince George Highschool in 2005, she married Joey Long and went on to study nursing at John Tyler Community College and later a bachelor’s degree at Grand Canyon University.

Brittany worked in many roles in the medical field but her heart was in hospice care. She was a compassionate and Godly woman who touched all that met her.  Her favorite place she worked was Carolina East Endoscopy department in New Bern, NC.

Brittany was always a joy in everyone’s life and always tried her hardest to make someone’s day. She loved the beach and went there as much as possible in the summer, and also loved the mountains and made sure to take an annual trip there with her family. Brittany always dreamed of being a bee-keeper and wanted to run her own florist shop. She loved flowers and had many around her house. Brittany was also an amazing singer, and even after many years she still knew her way on a piano.  Brittany also dove deep into the word of the God, and she loved praising and worshipping the Lord Jesus through singing, praying, and reading and studying the Bible.

Brittany is survived by her husband Joey, her four children Kylie, Isaac, Sophia, and Zachary, her father and mother Bobby and Darlene, and her two sisters Lindsay and Erica Harris. Brittany will be deeply missed.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”profile-links-header”]

    Her Story

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Tierra “Toi” Walker was born on June 2, 1987, in San Antonio, Texas, and transitioned to glory on December 30, 2024. She was raised by her loving mother, Pamela Walker, and was affectionately known as “Toi” by her close friends and family. Growing up in a tight-knit family, Tierra was the eldest sister to Kirsten Walker-Byrd and often acted as a sister to many of her cousins.

Throughout her life, Tierra maintained her faith in the Lord and lived according to her beliefs. She was baptized at St. Stephen’s Baptist Church at a young age. Tierra loved to sing, dance, laugh, eat (except for chicken), play pranks on others, and deeply cherished her family and friends. She was grateful for life and all the blessings it brought her.

Tierra received her education in the public school system of San Antonio, attending W. W. White Elementary School, Davis Middle School, and graduating from Sam Houston High School in 2005. During her school years, Tierra was an active member of the Stars Dancers by DMA from 7th to 12th grade. She also participted in the Davis Middle School choir, was involved in JROTC, played soccer, and completed the cosmetology program at Sam Houston High School. Believing in the importance of higher education, she continued her studies at Our Lady of the Lake University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and later obtained her paralegal certification. Tierra also participated in the Walt Disney College Program in Orlando, Florida. She delighted in fun and maintained a love for adventure and learning throughout her life, pursuing whatever she set her mind to do with determination.

Tierra always dreamed of raising a family of her own. In 2010, she proudly welcomed her beloved son, Javon “JJ” Walker-Davis, into the world. She considered being a mother a tremendous blessing from God. Tierra was passionate about teaching and helping others. For several years, she worked at Tanya’s Little Christian Angel Academy as a special needs instructor, making a priceless impact on the students and youth she touched. Most recently, she was a dedicated employee of the City of San Antonio.

On April 20, 2024, Tierra married her husband, Eric Carson. Together, they shared a deep love that Tierra truly cherished. She excelled at creating a beautiful and gracious home for her family, including her beloved fur babies, Milo and Twinkle. Tierra valued her friendships, nurturing relationship at each stage of her life, many of which lasted throughout her lifetime. She maintained friendships from her childhood on the East side of San Antonio and was known not just for enjoying her friends but for being a good friend herself. Tierra always made it a point to check on her friends and family.

Tierra is survived by her husband, Eric Carson; her son, Javon Walker-Davis; and her fur babies, Milo and Twinkle. She is also survived by her mother, Pamela Walker; her sister, Kirsten Walker-Byrd; aunt LaTanya Walker; great uncle Clint Tyler; great uncle Ivan Walker; great aunt Karen Matthews; and great aunt Deborah Vaughn. She will be fondly remembered by a host of cousins, extended family, and friends whom she encountered during her thirty-seven years with us.

    Tierra was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, grandparents, great-uncles, great-aunts, uncles, and aunts.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”profile-links-header”]
