Annie was born June 17, 1977 to Laurian “Laurie” Smith and Alan Taylor. She passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from complications due to a miscarriage December 7, 2011.

A talented and beautiful girl that touched so many lives in so many ways. She graduated from Granger High and went on to receive her Bachelors Degree from SUU in Elementary Education. Married Matthew Merkley in the Salt Lake Temple August 14, 1998. Above all, Annie loved her family and took pride in all her girl’s accomplishments.

Annie is survived by her husband, Matt; daughters, Allison, 10, and Abigail, 8; parents, Laurie (Wendell) Lyon, Alan (Linda) Taylor; brother, Shane Taylor; special sister-in-law, Gina Taylor; several nieces and nephews; parents-in-law, Richard and Betty Lu Merkley; and many extended family members that loved her very much. Preceded in death by brothers, Scott and Robert Taylor; sister, Shaylynn Glad; stepfather, Larry England.
