Who She Was
Her Story
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of April Aurora Torres, a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, on January 3, 2026.
Born on July 12, 1986, in East Los Angeles. April graduated from Foothill High School and was employed by Kern High School District. April was known for her radiant spirit and warm smile. She brought grace and kindness to those around her, leaving a legacy of healing, love, and commitment.
April devoted her life to her family. She took great pride in being a “Sports Mom,” always cheering on her children at every game and event. Her unwavering support and love ensured her children always felt encouraged to pursue their dreams.
April was the heart that bridged miles. From Southern California to Northern California, she made it a priority to visit and stay connected with every branch of her family. No distance ever felt too far for her. She always arrived with her beautiful smile, an open heart, and a personality that filled the room, reminding us that showing up with love and joy was one of her greatest gifts.
April was preceded in passing by her brother, Eddie Torres; her paternal grandparents; and her maternal grandfather.
She is survived by her seven children: Alyah, Aaron, Thomas, Evan, Layla, Adalynn, and Amira; grandchildren Michael and Mateo; her parents, Edward and Eleanor Torres; siblings Christopher, Adrian, Sonia, and Phillip; nephew Abel Morales and great-niece Kylee Morales; grandmother Sophia Padilla; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Though her absence leaves an ache that words cannot express, April’s vibrant light and the love she so generously gave will be held in the hearts of all who knew her, cherished always and never forgotten.
“A Butterfly to remind me, even though we are apart, your spirit is always with me, forever in my heart.”
