Brittany loved and was loved by many people. She had an infectious smile and a love for life. She had a huge heart, always grateful. She loved all creatures great and small, especially her cats, Bailey and Spaz. Brittany’s life was a picture of God’s love and mercy as He transformed her.

Brittany was born on May 11, 1994 in Tucson, Az to Steve and Brenda Van Horn. She is survived by her sister Brooke, who she dearly loved. Being her big sister was one of her greatest joys. Also survived by grandparents, William and Evelyn King, and Don and Tasha Van Horn, aunts and uncles, and several cousins.

Three years ago Brittany met the love of her life, Justin Burkeen. Together, they were excited to welcome their baby daughter, Brynlee Brookelynn Burkeen, into their family. They loved each other deeply and will be greatly missed.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”profile-links-header”]

    Her Story

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Jan Marie Weaver went to our Heavenly home on 22 December 2014 after complications of childbirth of her fourth child. She was born on 20 December 1976 in Houston, Texas to Dr. Marion and Jean McMurtrey.

She graduated from Bellaire High School (was the Drum Major) in 1995 and went on to attend college at Texas Tech University. Prior to graduation she married her high-school sweetheart, Rob Weaver. In 2002 she graduated from Texas Tech University magna cum laude with her husband and moved to Houston. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Rob Weaver; their four beloved children, Emma, Madilyn, Ammon, and Claire; her parents Dr. Marion and Jean McMurtrey, and her loving brother Tom McMurtrey and wife Collette. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Gardina Weaver, sister-in-law Kristyn Pearson and husband Robert, and sister-in-law Marie Crider and husband Ashley, as well as numerous other family members, nieces and nephews.

Jan was passionate about freedom based education and founded Arlington Liber Academy in 2014. Through this homeschooling network, Jan met numerous like-minded friends who worked together to further this type of learning. She inspired many children (and adults) to expand their knowledge through study and exploration to stand for freedom.

Jan was also very talented musically. She sang, composed, taught, and performed. She played the clarinet in High School and College. In College she composed music and played the piano. She also took the vocal choir at Texas Tech by surprise when asked to sing. She sang better than most of the singers in the advanced choir. She was asked why she was not a performance major… her reply… she didn’t have the time. Her voice was angelic and sought after when anyone heard her sing. In 2013 she sold her clarinet and purchased a violin and was learning how to play. She played with her brother, Tom, as he played the Cello. Her home was always filled with music.

Jan was a fierce defender of truth. She had many life experiences that shaped her into a person who would stand for truth regardless of the outcome. There was nothing casual about this attribute. It defined who she was. It was tied to her faith and belief that God lives and loves his children. Jan was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served her church in many capacities over the years.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”profile-links-header”]

    Her Story

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Aubrey Michelle (Fadule) Pappas and her unborn son, Nicholas “Niko” Pappas, died Wednesday, October 8, 2014 in a traffic accident in South Brunswick, NJ. She was 35.

Born in Fremont, California, she was raised in Marlton, NJ where she grew up on Barton Run Blvd. Aubrey grew up in a loving home surrounded by loving parents and her brother Joey. Aubrey graduated Cherokee High School in 1997. During her time in high school, she made countless friendships and touched so many people’s lives. Aubrey was stunningly beautiful and popular. Aubrey was a well grounded person with an amazing heart who was friends with everyone. Aubrey had an amazing personality and could hold a conversation with anyone because of her kind nature. Aubrey was the homecoming queen in high school her senior year. Aubrey played field hockey and soft ball in high school. Aubrey remained best friends with many of these people. Aubrey graduated LaSalle University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2001 where she earned a bachelors degree in communications graduating Magna cum Laude. During her time at LaSalle University, she was involved in a weekly sports television show that covered LaSalle athletics. Aubrey built strong friendships in college that lasted a lifetime. Aubrey moved to the Township of North Brunswick, NJ in 2002 where she was hired as a 6th grade language arts teacher. Aubrey took tremendous pride in being a teacher and put her heart and soul into the profession for 13 years. During her time as a teacher, Aubrey established and founded a video production club at Linwood 12 years ago and taught the children to handle video cameras, narrate and edit production. Aubrey made so many amazing friendships while working at Linwood. She held a special place in her heart for her “Linwood Ladies”. Aubrey developed many great relationships with students and loved them all.

Aubrey met her husband, Paul A. Pappas Jr. in January of 2006. They fell in love instantly and never left each others side. Aubrey and Paul got engaged on December 26, 2007, where prior to proposing, Paul recreated their very first date. Aubrey and Paul were married on July 26, 2009 at the Saint George Greek Orthodox Church in Piscataway, NJ. Aubrey and Paul lived an amazing life together surrounded by loving family and friends. Aubrey and Paul traveled the world together in the 9 years they were together. Aubrey and Paul enjoyed smoking cigars together and drinking sangria together where they created their famous “Pappas Sangria”. They moved to Monroe Township in December of 2010 where they bought their dream house. Aubrey and Paul loved to entertain their family and friends. The pool parties they had will never be forgotten. Aubrey gave birth to her son Anthony Joseph Pappas on March 17, 2012. Aubrey was an amazing mother to her son Anthony and she took such pride in caring for him. Aubrey always called Anthony her lucky charm since he was born on Saint Patrick’s Day. At the time of her death, Aubrey was pregnant with her second child due on March 13, 2015. Aubrey and Paul decided that if the child was a boy, they would name him “Niko”, short for Nicholas. After her passing, Paul named their unborn son Nicholas “Niko” Pappas.

Aubrey was a die hard New York Giants and New York Yankees fan. Aubrey idolized Derek Jeter and had a life size cardboard statue of him in her classroom. Aubrey, Paul, and her best friend Rod Jones attended Derek Jeter’s last home game where they witnessed history together. Aubrey will always be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, Godmother, friend, colleague, and teacher.
