Her Story
Christie M. Hamper, 28, and her unborn son, Thomas Robert Hamper, died unexpectedly Friday morning after being rushed to the emergency room at UHHS-Brown Memorial Hospital in Conneaut.
She was born May 18, 1975 in Madison, the daughter of Roger P. & Ruth L. (Gromley) Haines and has lived in the Denmark Twp., Dorset Twp. & Jefferson area all of her life. She was a 1993 Jefferson Area High School graduate and recently served on the 10 year class reunion committee. She was married to Joseph P. Hamper on February 18, 1999 in Jefferson.
Mrs. Hamper previously worked at the Country Doctor Veterinary Clinic and at Griffith’s Furniture. She was a former member of the Dorset United Methodist Church and is currently a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She was active with Bit’s and Tail’s 4-H Club. Her greatest love was her family and enjoying the flower and vegetable gardening and birds and animals on their small farm. She loved to cook and bake and always feed people.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph P. Hamper, three children, Kaitlynn Marie, Tyler James & Joseph Patrick, Jr., her parents, Roger & Ruth Haines of Dorset Twp., her grandparents, Robert A. & Cassie P. Haines of Denmark Twp., two sisters, Corine S. Haines of Jefferson and Cindi L. Haines of Dorset Twp., 16 nieces and nephews, David, Michael, Garrett, Michael, Nicole, Gregory, Joshua, Celeste, Andrew, Jenna, Julia, Liam, Stuart, Braden, Austyn & Preston and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas & Martha Gromley.
