Dr. Elizabeth Ann Curtis, age 34, of Spring Lake passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at a Grand Rapids hospital. She was born on August 14, 1979, in Grand Haven to Michael and Ann (Moore) Irish.
Dr. Curtis was a 1997 graduate of Grand Haven High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree at Michigan State University and her Doctorate in Dental Science at the University of Michigan. She married Scott Curtis on November 17, 2007, in Grand Haven.
Elizabeth was passionate about her dental practice with Dr. Kennard Creason and Dr. Walt Weber at Creason, Weber and Curtis. Elizabeth loved her family, her community and her profession. She was an active community volunteer and secretary of the Grand Haven Area Rotary, a member of Grand Haven Chamber Commerce and treasurer of the Muskegon Dental Society.
She enjoyed building furniture for her home, great conversation with her friends and family, and adventures with her children. Elizabeth had a caring heart and enjoyed volunteering for Miles of Smiles.
She is survived by her loving husband, Scott Curtis; her son, Adam Scott Curtis, and newborn daughter, Katherine Elizabeth. She is also survived by her mother, Ann (Dr. Dan) Tabor; three brothers: Jonathan (Rebecca) Irish of Nashville, Tennessee, David (Kendra) Tabor of Ada, Michigan, and Justin (Amber) Tabor of Belding, Michigan; mother-in-law, Jane Curtis of Spring Lake; father-in-law, Charles Hettenbach; grandmother, Marjorie Tabor; two sisters-in-law, Michelle Curtis of Los Angeles, California, and Karyn (Scott) Pinkston of Atlanta, Georgia; brother-in-law, Eric (Shelly) Hettenbach of Spring Lake; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Irish.
