Gail Marie (Wohlert) d’Auguste, 25, of McCook Lake died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at a Sioux City hospital six hours after giving birth to twin sons.

Gail was born Aug. 6, 1979, in Sioux City, the daughter of Don and Janice (O’Tool) Wohlert. She grew up in Bronson, Iowa and graduated in 1997 from Lawton-Bronson High School at the age of 17.

She married Jim d’Auguste on Dec. 19, 1998, in Moville, Iowa. She graduated from Morningside College in 1999 with a bachelor of arts degree in finance. She graduated in 2001 with a masters in Business Administration from the University of South Dakota. For the last five years, she worked at Gateway. For the last two years, she helped her husband, Jim, complete college at Morningside.

Gail was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and enjoyed playing the piano and sewing. She also enjoyed her dogs and horse.

Survivors include her husband, Jim, of McCook Lake; her twin sons, Charles James and Mitchell Avery d’Auguste; her parents, Don and Janice Wohlert, of Bronson; a brother, Greg Wohlert, and his wife, Jennifer, of Sioux City; maternal grandmother, Bernice O’Tool, of Ida Grove, Iowa; her mother and father-in-law, Patricia and John d’Auguste, of Dakota Dunes, S.D.; a sister-in-law, Jeni d’Auguste, of Washington, D.C.; a niece and nephew, Alexandria and Johnathan Wohlert, of Sioux City; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Carl and Gladys Wohlert; and maternal grandfather, Ivan O’Tool.
