Who She Was

Her Story

Jenna L. Blaisdell Hinman, 26, of Fort Drum, Watertown, passed away Monday afternoon, May 5, 2014 at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, surrounded by her loving family.

Jenna showed her courageous spirit when she gave a strong battle with a rare form of choriocarcinoma that was found after giving birth to her twin daughters in March, but in the end suffered too many complications.

She was born in Auburn on Nov. 22, 1987, the daughter of Jeff and Kim (Warter) Blaisdell and had resided in Port Byron for most of her life. More recently, she had lived at Fort Drum in Watertown with her husband, Brandon, a Sergeant in the Army. Jenna was the most amazingly, beautiful daughter a mother could wish for, but was also a mom, wife, sister, aunt, granddaughter, niece, and friend. Jenna’s heart was filled with love to give in which she did endlessly. She loved her family, friends, career, the military, and most of all her newly born twin baby girls.

Jenna grew up a tomboy and an athlete, which naturally made her daddy’s little girl. Her favorite sports teams were the New York Yankees and the New York Giants, but she loved playing the game of basketball more than anything. Jenna and her father would always sit and watch sports together like she was his little partner. Jenna was a special kind of person who had the unique ability to always find the good in people. She will be greatly missed by so many, but most of all her family and close friends.

She is survived by her loving husband, Sgt. Brandon Hinman of Fort Drum; their beautiful newborn twin daughters, Azlynn and Kinleigh Hinman; her parents, Jeff and Kim Blaisdell; a brother, Joshua Blaisdell, all of Port Byron; mother-in-law, Linda (John) Zink of South Carolina; father-in-law, Greg (Jackie) Hinman of Weedsport; sister-in-law, Lindsey (Ken) Clark of Weedsport; step-sisters-in-law, Tasina (Mike) Decker of Rochester, and Samara (Augustus) Zink of Maryland; maternal grandparents, John Warter Jr. of California, and Mary (Wade) and Cliff Blaisdell of Montezuma; paternal grandparents, Albert (Mary) A. Withers Blaisdell of Port Byron; maternal great-grandmother, Kathleen Quill Dwyer of Auburn; nephews, Carson Blaisdell and Ethan Clark; niece, Isabelle Clark; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and numerous close friends that were near and dear to her heart.
