Katrina Lawrence

Katrina Elizabeth Galbraith Lawrence

January 19, 1977 – May 6, 2013

Provo, Utah

On May 6, 2013, we lost our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Katrina Galbraith Lawrence passed away at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, due to complications from childbirth. Katrina was born on January 19, 1977 in Provo, Utah to Glen Gordon Galbraith and Celeste Sigua Galbraith. She was their first daughter, and the second of five children.

From the start, Katrina had an amazing amount of energy. She walked at eight months, and climbed to the highest peak of anything she possibly could. Her aspirations have always been high, and throughout her life, she continued to excel in all she did. She attended Cherry Hill Elementary, Lakeridge Junior High, and graduated from Mountain View High School in 1995. She attended school at BYU Hawaii from 1996-1997 and made many cherished friends there.

Katrina married Justus LeGrant Lawrence on November 7, 1998 and six children followed suit. Her children were her greatest joy, and she took pride in their accomplishments. Her happiest day was October 30, 2009, when her family was sealed for eternity in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. Katrina was a loving, supportive wife as she worked along side Justus at their family karate school in Lindon, UT. Those who associated with her there grew to love her. Not only was she a strong presence at the Karate school, but she was an amazing business woman. She loved the scrapbook industry and spent many years designing scrapbook products. This fit her well as she was very artistic and could create anything she put her mind to. She loved to travel and took as many family trips to Disneyland as she could fit into a year.

It was hard not to love Katrina. She had an amazing way of making everyone feel loved, accepted, and special. She always had a smile on her face and a compliment on her lips. She had the ability to find the good in everyone. She was the most selfless person, always putting everyone else’s needs above her own. It is fitting that in the end, she sacrificed her life for the life of her sweet baby Jet.

Katrina had a strong testimony of her Savior Jesus Christ. She was currently serving as the Primary Chorister in her ward and loved the primary children with whom she served.

Katrina is survived by her husband, Justus Lawrence, of Orem, UT, her six children: Kai (14), Te (12), Maya (11), Dax (8), Koa (3), and her newest infant son Jet. Her parents, Gordon and Celeste Galbraith, brothers, Sean Galbraith (Kami), Troy Galbraith (Rachel), Rex Galbraith (Megan), and sister Marissa Bell (Bruce.) She is also survived by her beloved in-laws, Bobby and Charlene Lawrence, Dallas Lawrence (Arlynn), Desi Lawrence, and Miki Lawrence (Kortnie). She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, to whom she was the favorite aunt, and a large extended family.

She was proceeded in death by her grandparents Dee and Glendora Galbraith, and Manuel and Zenaida (Ima) Sigua.

The family wishes to thank Katrina’s wonderful friends, neighbors, and ward members who have stepped in and gone above and beyond during this time. We also wish to thank the many doctors and nurses who cared for Katrina during her time in the hospital and who fought so valiantly to save her life.
