Her Story

Kristie Lyn Rubino, 35, of Cato, NY, formerly of Youngsville, NY, passed away on August 3, 2011, in Syracuse, NY. She was born November 26, 1975 in Monticello, NY. Kristie was a loving fiance, mother, daughter, and sister. She will be missed by all those who knew her.

She was a graduate of Jeffersonville-Youngsville Central School and attended Cazenovia College receiving a degree in Commercial Art Illustration. She was a social worker who dedicated her life to improving the lives of the children and families with whom she worked with.

Kristie was a talented artist, music enthusiast, and loved outdoor activities. In addition, she was a dedicated member of the Assault City Roller Derby team, skating under the name Raging Ruby 5 3/4.

She is survived by her fiancee, Jeffery Wilkins; newborn son, Brody Allen Wilkins; her parents, Michael Rubino and Nancy and Peter Matrafailo; her sisters, Koren Rubino and Landry Rubino; aunts and uncles, Donna and Edward Tyler, Janice and Robert Zeller, James and Sally Rubino; cousins, Brett and Travis Tyler, RJ Zeller, Tammy Frazier and Todd Rubino; grandfather, Roy VanFradenburg; best friend, Joan Pilonero; her extended family, Robert, Karen, Jennifer and Jessica Wilkins; her beloved dog, Spencer; and other cousins, great-aunts, and great-uncles, and many, many friends.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Aileen VanFradenburg and Raymond and Gertrude Rubino.
