Her Story
On Sept. 13, 2007, Laura Hope Smith tragically went to be with Jesus. Born in Honduras, on May 25, 1985, Laura grew up in Sandwich.
She was a 2004 graduate of Upper Cape Tech, majoring in cosmetology. Most recently, she worked in retail management and was a member of Calvary Chapel of Sandwich.
Laura was vibrant, loving and caring. She lit up a room with her presence and created a vacuum when she left. The ever-present optimist, Laura was always encouraging others and is cherished for her child-like heart.
Laura is survived by her parents, Tom and Eileen Smith of Orlando, Fla.; her siblings, Marcella Embry of Orlando, Marni Garrity of Boston, Matt Smith of Pittsburgh, PA; her fiance Pvt. Rob LaBossiere, currently serving in Iraq; her 3 nieces, 32 cousins, many aunts and uncles, and a great multitude of friends.
