Her Story
Sarah Jane Tweed (Altstadt), age 29, found peace after her courageous, nine month battle with breast cancer on June 23, 2010.
Sarah Jane was born in Janesville WI, October 3, 1980 to parents Marty and Nancy. Sarah Jane grew up in Madison WI and graduated from Memorial High School in 1999. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse in 2002.
She married Eric Steven Tweed in La Crosse WI, August 2007. Sarah and Eric moved to Parker CO. Sarah Jane received her Masters Degree in Couple and Family Counseling in 2010 from University of Colorado, Denver.
In October 2009, when 24 weeks pregnant, Sarah was diagnosed with stage 4, triple-negative breast cancer. She began chemotherapy, and on January 14, 2010 Sarah proudly gave birth to a healthy baby, Emmett Wayne.
Sarah was very passionate about helping others throughout her life and most recently wanted to raise awareness and funding for triple negative breast cancer. She was an inspiration to so many, and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
Sarah Jane Tweed (Altstadt) is survived by her husband Eric and their son, Emmett Wayne, parents Martin Altstadt (Julie), and Nancy Bohanan (Robert), siblings Jenny Altstadt and Matt Bohanan (Megan), sister-in-law Gretchen Tweed Canaday (Sebastian), and nephews Jonah Altstadt and Johan Canaday. Sarah is also survived by her grandmother, Barbara Milling of Park Ridge, IL and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
