Who She Was
Her Story
Stacie Lynn Baker, 29, a strong, loving mother of two children, died unexpectedly with her unborn baby, of an ectopic pregnancy on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, shortly upon arrival at Franklin Memorial Hospital, Farmington.
She was born July 6, 1981, in Haverhill, Mass., a daughter of Jeffrey Gerard and Catherine Louise (Allen) Baker. She received her education at St. Joseph’s in Haverhill, Nottingham Elementary and Dover High School in Dover, N.H., and earned her General Educational Development diploma at Exeter Adult Education. She loved children, and for many years was employed at day care centers in New Hampshire before moving to Maine on Jan. 15, 2011.
She moved to Maine to recuperate from a variety of surgeries required following a serious automobile accident that nearly claimed her life in March of 2010.
Stacie was beautiful both inside and out. Her countenance was one of a mature woman with a childlike innocence and joy for living. She had a beautiful smile, long eyelashes and was always laughing. She will be remembered for her ability to look on the brighter side of life. She loved music and enjoyed karaoke with family and friends. She is described as a “girlie-girl” who took pride in her outward appearance, but never lost sight of the most important part of life — inner beauty. She was a devoted mom who always made time for her son, “Billy-Boy” and enjoyed supporting his baseball team and watching their games.
She is loved by her son, William Henry “Billy-Boy” Powers III, of Strong; fiance William Henry “Bill” Powers, dad Jeffrey Baker, and step-mom Marcia Baker, all of Strong; step-dad John Trumbull of Rochester, N.H.; her sister, Tammy Gordon, of Fayette; maternal grandfather Robert “Bob” Allen and wife Diane of Rochester, N.H.; step-sister Jamie Williams Brown and husband Michael of Westbrook; step-brother Christopher Grant and wife Bonny of Livermore Falls; godfather Stephen Comeau of Clinton, Mass.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mom in 2007.
