    Her Story

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”profile-story”]It is with great sadness, the family of Amanda Christiane Garbacz, 24, of North Little Rock announce her passing on Saturday, May 11, 2013.

Amanda graduated from North Little Rock High School and continued on to receive her Civil Engineering degree at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She was an engineer with Patterson Engineering in Texarkana, Texas. Amanda was a member of Chi Epsilon, The National Society of Professional Engineers, and The American Society of Civil Engineers.

Amanda was also a dedicated and involved member of Park Hill Christian Church since childhood where she took an active role in Chi Rho and CYF ministries. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, shopping, biking, hiking, yoga, painting, and cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her fiancé, Danny Hernandez, of Texarkana, Texas; daughter, Lillian Amanda Hernandez; parents, Matt and Suzanne Garbacz; sister, Alana Garbacz, of North Little Rock; grandparents, Christiane and Ben Thomas, of Jacksonville; Dr. Christopher and Marilyn Garbacz, of Flora, Mississippi; great-grandfather, Robert Stroud, of North Little Rock; aunts and uncles, Cindy Goddard, Jeff Garbacz, Susanna and Nathan Ivy-Garbacz, Miranda Garbacz; and a loving host of many family members and friends.

In her short 24 years, Amanda touched the lives of many with her beautiful outgoing compassionate spirit and intellect. Her beautiful daughter brings peace to her family and loved ones because they know Amanda smiles through Lillian to let us all know she is at peace and well in God’s hands.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”profile-links-header”]

    Her Story

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”profile-story”]For everything there is a season, a time to live, a time to die… a time to mourn.

Karen Sclafani passed away February 7, 2004, in Bozeman, after having given birth to a beautiful baby girl, Aryana Karen Maffly, on February 5, 2004, from complications of child birth and delivery. She was with her husband, Brian Maffly, her family, and her close friends at the time of her passing.

Karen received extraordinary medical attention at the hospital at the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital, and every effort was made to save her life. The family especially thanks Drs. Stacy Shomento, Garth Olds, and Charles Rinker for the superb medical care they gave Karen, Father Leo Proxelle of Holy Rosary Church and the hospital chaplains for the spiritual support given the family.

Karen leaves behind her loving husband, Brian Maffly; her parents, Tina and Mario Sclafani of South Salem, N.Y.; three sisters, Marie Shaffer of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., Joanne Donohoe of Armonk, N.Y., and Susan Stefenson of Westport, Conn.; her in-laws who loved her as family, Lynn Nicholas and Wallace Graham of Salt Lake City, and Donald and Valerie Maffly of Lafayette, Calif.

Karen lived life to the fullest, always on her own terms. She was devoted to outdoor activities. She loved backcountry skiing, hiking and cycling. She had hundreds of loving friends to whom she gave of her warm and wonderful self unstintingly. Karen traveled all over the world and made friends everywhere she went. She will be dearly remembered not just by her loving family, but also by her many friends.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”profile-links-header”]
