    Her Story

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Talia Simone Borras, affectionately known as Tali, was born on September 15, 1994, in San Jose, California. She passed away on September 6, 2024, in Roseville, California, leaving behind a legacy of love and creativity.

Tali earned her culinary arts degree and became known for her extraordinary cooking and baking skills, which brought joy to many. Her proudest accomplishments included raising four beautiful daughters whom she adored deeply. Her first daughter, Elena Vida Borras, age13, is a sporty young girl who loves spending time with her friends & playing video games. Tali’s second daughter, Juliana Elise Hall, age 5, is a vibrant little girl who enjoys playing soccer and indulging in her passion for dress-up and singing Disney songs. The family welcomed fraternal twins, Mila Rose and Chloe Marie, on August 17, 2024. Mila, with her dark hair, showcased the family’s Hispanic heritage, while Chloe, with her light hair and eyes, reflects their English and German roots.

Tali shared a loving partnership with Justin Hall, who supported her through life’s adventures for over a decade. Their dedication & love for one another was palpable. She is survived by her parents, Joseph & Yvette Borras, and two sisters, Beata & Nina Borras. Her family will cherish the memory of her infectious laugh, remarkable sense of humor, and artistic talents.

A born-again Christian, Tali’s faith was an integral part of her life. She impacted the lives of those around her as a loving mother, dedicated partner, rambunctious daughter, joyful sister, and unforgettable best friend. Talia Simone Borras will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”profile-links-header”]

    Her Story

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Maranatha Eileen Lougheed on July 20th, 2018 at just 39 years of age. Maran suffered a catastrophic intracranial hemorrhage two days after delivering her third son and, unfortunately, deteriorated shortly thereafter. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, who adored her.

Maran is survived by her loving husband, Cory Kilpatrick, and her three beautiful boys, Brycen (age 4), Benton (age 2), and newborn baby Braedan. She also leaves behind a large immediate family, including her parents, Eileen and Brandon Lougheed, and siblings, Daryl (Natalie), Ronan (April), Charetina (David), Taylor (Vanessa), and Justan; as well as her mother- and father-in-law, Rick and Karen Kilpatrick; and her nieces and nephews, Maeve, Bramwell, Harrison, Sullivan, and Willa.

Maran, also known affectionately as “Marn,” “Mare,” or simply “M,” was an incredible woman, filled with such life and laughter. She was born on May 23, 1979 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and immediately began leaving her indelible mark on the lives of everyone she encountered. Always ready with a quick smile or a witty joke, she was loved by all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

An amazing athlete and especially talented swimmer, her career took her from Markham Aquatic Swim Club to Seton Hall University in New Jersey on a swim scholarship, where she made lifelong friends in the pool. She subsequently completed her medical training through Saint George’s University in Grenada and her medical residency at Monmouth Medical Center in New Jersey.

Her career began in Rhode Island, where she met her husband, Cory, and they started their life together in Big Flats, New York. Maran expertly cared for thousands of patients, and was well-respected and admired by her many colleagues as an outstanding physician and Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Guthrie Corning Hospital. She dedicated her life to bringing babies into the world, saving the lives of young mothers, and offering comfort and healthcare support to women of all ages. She did this not only through medical intervention, but also by demonstrating exemplary compassion and a willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty to help those in need.

Maran’s commitment to her work in women’s health was second only to her dedication to her family. She worked tirelessly to create a happy home, and provided enriching experiences, along with a loving, magical childhood for her children. Maran had big dreams for her little boys, and their well-being was of the utmost importance to her. Although she was not able to communicate it, her family knows that her dying wish would have been for her children to be loved and cared for, and that they each be given the opportunity to become the best versions of themselves – as she strove to do in her own life.

Even on her final day, Maran continued to give. As per her wishes, her organs were donated to those in dire need, allowing her to save many lives despite losing her own. Maran was, simply put, an incredible person. Her passing has left a void that will never be filled.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”profile-links-header”]

    Her Story

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Alexandra ‘Lexi’ Dawn (Brown) Poindexter, age 28, of Bloomfield, formerly Linton, passed away from this earth on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Linton on November 27, 1990, the daughter of Richard & Michelle (Haussin) Brown.

Lexi was a 2009 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School and received her cosmetology degree from Aveda Fredric’s Institute in Indianapolis in 2010. She worked as a hair stylist at Identity Style Salon in Bloomfield, and formerly at MarDon Salon in Bloomington, along with being a beautiful caretaker of her babies.

She was a member of Linton First Christian Church, where she served as coordinator and teacher of the preschool Sunday School program, and made an incredible impact on lives of so many children.

Lexi was a light to everyone who knew her. She had the ability to find the smallest bit of brightness in anyone and help them grow it. She loved to sing and dance and make things for her loved ones. She loved the beach and the ocean and seafood. She was prepared for everything with a backup plan, and a fierce determination to make everything work out.

Most of all, she had a faith in Christ that many can only hope to have. She will continue to live on through her beautiful children, in their laughs and cries, and their beautiful eyes. Lexi enjoyed cooking, flowers, traveling, and most importantly, being a wife and mother.

She is survived by her parents of Linton, her husband whom she married September 8, 2012, Logan M. Poindexter of Bloomfied, her daughter, Penelope Dawn, her infant son, Pruitt Richard, two sisters, Victoria (Will) Fulton of Denver, CO and Isabelle Brown of Indianapolis, maternal grandparents, Jerry and Mary ‘Maide’ Haussin of Sandborn, paternal grandparents, Ron & Marsha Brown of Linton, her father and mother-in-law, Greg & Betsy Hundley of Columbus, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
